okCardio

Weight loss is a two-fold proposition. In addition to valuable fibre in your diet, cardiovascular exercise is crucial.

It is important that we elevate our heart rate at least three times a week even if weight loss is not the goal. If you are looking to lose a few pounds then the minimum cardio is three times a week but five would be optimal.

Running, swimming and biking are the optimal activities for maximum fat burn, however you don’t need to go that hard.

Walking is also a great cardio workout and can be performed by anyone. Just walk briskly for no less than 20 minutes, three times a week. Walking also helps to lighten our environmental footprint, so forget the car on the way to work if it's at all possible. Get up and get moving!

Fibre

Fibre deficiency is a chronic problem in North America and it has been said that up to 35 percent of all cancers are associated with the typical low fibre, high fat North American diet.

Most people are only getting 10 to 15 grams of dietary fibre per day and require more like 25 to 35 grams. Unfortunately fibre is often overlooked, but its importance cannot be overstated. Achieving a balance of protein, essential fats and fibre intake is key in achieving overall heart health, blood sugar and weight control, as well as improving bowel health by giving the body the tools to cleanse naturally.

Both hemp and flax powders are ideal for those subscribing to the high protein and low carb regime. Both products are a remarkable 42 percent fibre, which equals the carbohydrate content, making them both zero net carbs. The big difference between the products is the structure of fibre. Hemp powder is 92 percent insoluble fibre compared to 8 percent soluble fibre. Flax powder is 60 percent soluble as compared to 40 percent insoluble. The highly soluble fibre found in flax powder delivers a prebiotic mucilaginous fibre, which creates a wonderful texture in beverages when blended or shaken. Both products deliver 50 percent of your daily fibre intake per serving.

Use it or lose it!

Muscle mass naturally diminishes with age. It is imperative that we continue to build muscle as that helps diminish fat. Strength training can help you preserve and enhance your muscle mass and is suitable for all ages. ok

Depleted oxygen...BIG problem...

okIn today’s world we encounter many factors that contribute to a reduction of oxygen in our bodies. Our environment is a leading cause, as is stress and smoking. Alcohol and carbonated beverages also deplete oxygen stores in the body.

Oxygen is necessary in the elimination of waste and toxins in the body. It naturally eliminates dangerous carbon dioxide in the body and as a result red blood cells become energized. A lack of oxygen accelerates the aging process and also helps to facilitate the proliferation of disease. Oxygen also accelerates the healing of cuts, burns and infections in the body.

With oxygen our bodies are more equipped to deal with viruses and bacteria. Oxygen therapy has been utilized by some alternative health practitioners in the treatment of cancer and other diseases.

More Oxygen! Really?

It seems a bit strange at first. After all, oxygen’s all around us. And the fact that you’re still alive and kicking means you’re getting enough, right?
Science suggests that increasing the oxygenation levels in your body has a lot of benefits. It’s the secret to a young, fresh appearance, healthy cell composition, mental alertness, increased physical stamina and boosting your immune system. Athletes and celebrities have been enjoying oxygen’s benefits for years. Like healthier bottled water, it’s an idea whose time has come.

Hippocrates

Oregano's rich history ...

First utilized by the ancient Greeks, oregano, which means "delight of the mountain," was a symbol of peace and happiness. The goddess Aphrodite is said to have created the scent of oregano as a symbol of happiness and garlands were placed on the heads of bridal couples to symbolize this. Oregano plants were also placed on the tombs of the departed to ensure peace and tranquility.

Oregano's power to heal was also well known to ancient Greeks and it was considered to be a healing herb far before it was ever used in a culinary fashion. Hippocrates used it as an antiseptic and the leaves of the plant were often chewed during the Middle Ages to relieve toothaches, rheumatism, indigestion and coughs. In ancient Egypt it was also used as a healing herb and as a disinfectant.

Oil of Oregano ...
Amazing Herbal Healer

The essential oil distilled from wild Mediterranean oregano is perhaps the most potent herbal healer of them all. The primary ingredient is a phenol called carvacrol, which has been proven by modern lab testing to be a powerful antibiotic and antiseptic.

The synergistic action of phenols, esters, alcohols and terpenes provides the oil with powerful immune boosting, antiviral, antifungal, antiparasitic, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and pain killing properties.

Your immune system is your first line of defense against disease. Oregano oil helps keep your immune system strong. Take a few drops of the oil daily. You'll see a dramatic difference in your health.
